We are committed to sharing God’s love within our local community and further afield. One of the ways we do this is by supporting a number of charities.
The church has over the last few of years examined the way we apportion funds to various charities. We tithe the income to the church in order to support a particular charity. Each year we select one charity to support over the coming year. During 2018 we are supporting Rotherham Hospital’s Purple Butterfly appeal.
Embrace the Middle East (formerly BibleLands)
Embrace the Middle East provides health, education and community development programmes for the most disadvantaged people in the lands of the Bible – regardless of their faith or nationality.
Through Embrace the Middle East we help to sponsor the education of a young boy named Andrea in Talitha Kumi Evangelical School in Beit Jala, which is near Bethlehem.
Each year we support Christian Aid during Christian Aid week, as well as special collections at Easter, Harvest and Christmas and any appeals we may receive.
Operation Christmas Child
Over the last few years we have supported Operation Christmas Child. Each year we fill a number of shoe-boxes with gifts for underprivileged children around the world to be opened at Christmas. We hold a special dedication service for the gifts before they are passed on to Operation Christmas Child.
